FAQ Sonic Days 2024
Where will Sonic Days be held:
Sonic Day takes place in UC SYD's new building on the Kolding Campus, Universitetsparken 2, 6000 Kolding.
Public transport:
The UC SYD building with Sonic College is just 600 m from the train and bus station, and as Kolding is a traffic hub, it is easy to get to Kolding by public transport.
Are you coming in your own car:
Right next to the UC SYD building there is a large car park with space for many cars. Unfortunately, the car park is also used extensively, so it can sometimes be difficult to find a space.
You can register your car at terminals in the UC SYD building, and parking is thus free. But remember to finally register!!
If the parking lot is full, we recommend using the parking facility located at Pakhustorvet 30, 6000 Kolding. It's just 500 meters away from the campus.
Sleepover:
After all, Sonic Days is held over three days, with a lead-in day on Tuesday with a few points in the conference schedule. If you would like to spend the night, there are a number of hotels in Kolding. Here we mention a small handful:
Hotel Kolding by the railway station, 800 m from Sonic College.
Kolding Hotel Apartments, 1800 m from Sonic College
Comwell Kolding, 2500 m from Sonic College
Hotel Koldingfjord, 4 km from Sonic College
Meals:
The canteens both at UC SYD and at Syddansk University next door will be open for lunch. During Sonic Days, there is free coffee and bottled water will be offered, but with limited supplies after all. You can also buy coffee and soft drinks in the canteen. Kolding also has lots of cafes, eateries and take aways, so the possibilities are many.
Where in the building:
Sonic College is located on the 3rd floor of the UC SYD building, and the majority of the many presentations are held here. The atrium will also be used for some presentations, just as two rooms on the ground floor are essential conference rooms, the Cinema and the sports arena, both of which are in the corner to the left when you stand on the atrium floor with your back to the entrance.
Performance or, colloquially, the students bar on the 1st floor will also be used as a conference room and it is, among other things, here, that the concerts included in the program will be held.
We have a lot of rooms going on up on the 3rd floor, so remember to take a good tour and explore what is happening in the many rooms. There will be boards in front of the premises with activities so you can see what is happening that day.
In some of the rooms and in the corridor you will find our sponsors, so here you can drop in and have a chat with them (and maybe a drink and a snack).
A break:
The conference program is large and packed with exciting presentations, but if you still need some relaxation, there are a couple of outdoor, covered terraces on the 1st floor. Here you will also find a canteen and students bar (Performance), which can also be used for relaxation. In the walkway between the two education buildings on the 1st floor, you will also find some relaxation furniture, and here you can also sit down if you need to be able to work a little.
Internet:
There will be free internet in the building on the days the conference runs.

The conference program and access via the app:
When you have registered for the conference, you will surely have discovered the browser-based software that we use for handling, information and program. You may already be reading this FAQ inside the software, Shed.
Here there are many options that will be of great help when you have to navigate the conference program. You can also sort if there is one or more of the eight tracks that you are particularly interested in. You can see the program in a simple list, in an extended list or in a grid form.
When you click on a conference presentation, you get a description and information about speakers or panelists.
Once you have registered for a series of conference presentations (see below), you can create your own personal calendar of the days via the app.
Registration for conference presentations:
At all conference sessions we have limited places, which are determined by how many people can be in the various rooms. The premises have a capacity ranging from 15 to 150 participants. So it is therefore important that you register for the conference sessions, that you would like to participate in. Then the places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, on the popular ones with a waiting list. But now be a good person and don't just sign up for sessions at will. You take the place from someone else if you don't show up. Five minutes before the start of the conference, we fill up the popular sessions with those on the waiting list.
Questions:
At the end of each conference session, it will be possible to ask questions about the topic or the debate.
Feedback and criticism:
There is a small team behind Sonic Days, employees, teachers and students, who work hard to make a good program and some content-rich days at the conference. We hope this is appreciated, but we are absolutely responsive to both praise and criticism about what we can do to make an even better conference in the coming years.
So feel free to send constructive criticism, and also use the system in the app to comment on sessions.
